Guidelines for Editorial Board Members

■Duties of Editors (Overview)

Editors are responsible for:

  • Making fair and unbiased decisions 
  • Maintaining confidentiality 
  • Avoiding conflicts of interest 
  • Ensuring ethical compliance 

1. Roles and Responsibilities

1.1 General Responsibilities

  • Ensure high-quality peer review and editorial decision-making.
  • Promote the journal within academic and professional communities.
  • Adhere to ethical publishing standards and editorial policies.

1.2 Editorial Review and Decision Making

  • Recommend reviewers for manuscripts within their area of expertise.
  • Make unbiased editorial decisions based on reviewer feedback and scientific merit.
  • Address conflicts of interest and ethical issues in submitted manuscripts.

1.3 Contribution to the Journal’s Development

  • Assist in attracting high-quality manuscript submissions.
  • Contribute editorials, review articles, or special issue proposals when required.
  • Suggest and invite guest editors or reviewers as needed.
  • Communicate actively with the editorial team and provide suggestions for improvement.

2. Ethical Standards and Confidentiality

  • Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and peer review processes.
  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
  • Avoid any bias or favoritism in manuscript handling.

3. Term and Appointment

  • Editorial board members are appointed for an initial term of two years, subject to renewal based on active participation and contributions to the journal’s growth.

  • A certificate of appreciation for active contributions.
  • Priority consideration for publishing in JBPH with discount on APC.

5. Resignation and Termination

  • Editorial board members can resign by providing a formal notice to the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Non-compliance with editorial responsibilities, ethical violations, or inactivity may result in removal from the board.
